Crew won the V Festival digital account from a shortlist of 3 agencies.
The first part of the brief was to create a rich, responsive website capable of handling the very high traffic levels that the festival attracts. The site needed to be clean, welcoming and intuitive, allowing V's global talent to shine and festival-goers to find what they wanted quickly and easily.
Since the initial launch, we've helped evolve the site over time, adding dedicated campsite listings, a blog, and competition sections to get users more involved.
We also developed a press sign-up tool which created personalised PDFs for accredited journalists.
On the backend, we defined a robust hosting solution, capable of holding up to the huge spikes in traffic generated by offline promotion. We combined this with a purpose built back-end which utilised Django to help manage a lot of the structured data contained within the site.
