This years Christmas campaign for TK Maxx involved an ambitious digital and physical competition.
In stores throughout Europe participants were required to find hidden snow globes for a chance to win a white Christmas. 

To support the activity we created a virtual snow globe that shoppers could visit on their phones in order to enter. This combined an advanced frontend solution that would work on browsers alongside an advanced prize mechanic and redemption tools.

To bring the frontend to life we developed a sophisticated particle system using three.js to emulate the snow effect.
This had to work both on desktop with a realistic drag and drop mechanism as well as using the inbuilt accelerometer on phones. Due to the potential CPU drain we continually developed, optimised and tested throughout the build process.

We're very happy with the end result and have pushed the limits of what dynamic 3D particle systems are capable of within a browser environment.
